Survey of Noise Level in the Various Technical Maintenance Shops, ROKAF Base

Abstract
|
|
|
A survey of noise level in the various maintenance shops of ROKAF bases were investigated during a period of September 8 th to October 10 th, 1966. Rion´s. noisemeter (N 1101 A Type) was used for the measurement of noise level.
The following results were obtained.
(1) The noise level was 84-114 phon in the maintenance- shops where the source of noise being the equipment and machinary.
The noise level at the. beginning of operation of aircraft engine including jet at E. T. C. (engine test cell) was approximately 120-130 phon that would be hazardous to human body.
(2) Among various continuous noises produced in the shop, constant noise was predominant.
(3) Among the various types of noise produced in each job of the shop noise of high frequency (tone) was predominant.
(4) From the above facts, it is: considered that certain measures are necessitated for the possible noise hazards of the workers of ROKAF maintenance shops. And, further reasearch would be required.
